SEBASTIAN BACH: 'I Have Been Writing New Songs All Summer'
October 21, 2003Former SKID ROW frontman Sebastian Bach recently spoke to Boston-based freelance writer Debby Rao about his new band and the group's future activities, including their upcoming mini-tour with TWISTED SISTER.
When asked why he wasn't using guitarist Richie Scarlett on the band's forthcoming tour, Sebastian said, "I love Richie. He is great. But the thing is I am signed to Spitfire Records. They are becoming a really big label now. They did really good for Zakk Wylde. They are becoming more of a major label. I have been writing new songs all summer for my next record. I went on the Internet to see what was out there. So basically I found these guys from Tennessee. They used to be in the band DEAD TIGHT FIVE. They have great songs and have been looking for a singer all their career. You know what I am saying?! We have so many great songs. They are melodic and heavy. I also got another guitar player, Adam Albright from SKINLAB. He is heavy and metal. He has a good edge to 'Slave to the Grind' and 'Monkey Business'. He has a new sound to his guitar."
With regards to his upcoming dates with TWISTED SISTER, Bach said, "TWISTED SISTER is like one of my favorite bands ever. I can't believe I get to go on tour with them. When I was kid, I used to paint TWISTED SISTER on the back of my jacket with liquid paper. I am playing the Beacon Theater in New York City with ALICE COOPER. SKID ROW is not playing there, but I am playing with my solo band. That is a big deal for me."
As previously reported, Bach will be reunited with former SKID ROW bandmate/drummer Rob Affuso at select dates on his upcoming solo tour, including at The Chance in Poughkeepsie, New York on Thursday, October 23 and at The Beacon Theater in New York City on Monday, October 27. Bach's new solo band, dubbed BACH TIGHT 5, is completed by Albright, drummer Mark "BamBam" McConnell, bassist Brian Hall (a.k.a. Cheeze) (BLACK BONE, DEAD TIGHT 5),and guitarist Randall X Rawlings (DEAD TIGHT 5).
